21 YEARS OLD
In between singing covers in pubs and waitressing, Sydney resident India Rose Madderson knew it was time to take a chance when she heard about auditions for The X Factor.
She had recently broke up with her boyfriend of two years and decided to throw herself into her music.
India impressed the judges with her performance of Joss Stone’s ‘Some Kind Of Wonderful’.
Now she has made it to the Top 12 and has Natalie Imbruglia as her mentor.
“She is tough - she says what she is thinking and is helping me to improve,” India says.
Her inspiration is her single Mum - who has always encouraged her to sing and perform, despite knowing how tough the industry is.
India is looking forward to the live shows. “I’m going to work harder than everyone else. I have drive, passion and I’m dedicated - I’m open to to take on any advice and criticisms.”
India’s musical inspirations are Beyonce and Rhianna.
In five years time, she hopes to be “singing and successful”.“I want to make it big in Australia and try my luck internationally.”
