How is life after The X Factor TV show?
Things are going so well since my time on The X Factor. I’m doing everything I can in order to make this a long-lasting career. I’m gigging a lot nationwide, songwriting on my own and collaborating. Just trying to keep myself busy. There are a lot of things I’m looking forward to for 2013 – that is, The X Factor Live Tour and a lot of stuff regarding management and deals.
How are you adapting to the ‘celebrity world’?
I think I’m adapting to the celebrity world OK. It’s a lot to take on having all that exposure resulting in a lot of attention. Everyone loves a little attention but it has its ups and downs I guess. Nevertheless, this is the lifestyle I want!
What was your favourite performance during the competition?
It’s hard to choose one favourite so I’m going to give you two – I Gotta Feeling and The Scientist.
Tell us about the support you get from your fans.
The support from the fans is incredible. I’m still getting fan mail and presents. Having such a great and strong support group makes it easier for us to do what we do. Getting up on stage, singing and performing and putting your heart and soul in it and being as venerable as possible isn’t easy and isn’t for everyone. It takes a lot of guts. Having the fans on your side really helps with that. I love them!
When did you know you wanted to audition for The X Factor?
I’ve been trying so hard to make it in the industry the last six years of my life. I spoke with a close friend and he made it clear as to why I should do it. The auditions were almost over but I just got in there this year.
When was your first live performance?
I was a late starter. I think my live performance I ever did was for my singing school, when I was a student. That would have been around the age of 20 years old.
Who is your favourite artist?Stevie Wonder.
Who did you become closest to on the show?
Fourtunate, Sammi, Angel, Jason, The Collective, Bella, Carmelo … I guess almost all of them!
Which state are you most looking forward to visiting on the tour?
Melbourne, because that’s my home and I’m the only contestant in the Top 6 from there!
What are you looking forward to most on the X Factor Live Tour?
Hanging out with the other Top 6 again, being in The X Factor live stage atmosphere, singing and performing for the people out there who have supported me from day one and still are! This time around I’m going to make sure I have a lot more fun with it!
It is a busy tour schedule, are you up for it?
Is that a trick question? Of course I am. This type of lifestyle has been something I’ve dreamt about doing for the rest of my life! Bring it on!The X Factor Live Tour is visiting: the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth and Sydney. For more information and to purchase tickets click here
