How is life after The X Factor TV show?Things are travelling really well at the moment! I had a nice two-week break straight after the show which I used to rejuvenate. The show was exhausting and very draining of energy, so it was nice to spend a few weeks collecting myself. I’m now very busy again with the release of Set Me On Fire, the accompanying music video, and the X Factor tour which is just around the corner.
How are you adapting to the ‘celebrity world’?I don’t think I’ll ever consider myself a celebrity, so it’s a tough question for me to answer, but I don’t feel any different and no one is treating me any differently (thank goodness), so I’m still very grounded and I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon.
What was your favourite performance during the competition? My favourite performance in terms of styling (including hair and make-up) was Big Yellow Taxi. My favourite vocal performances were Sweet Disposition, Heartbeats (from Home Visits), and A Team (from Bootcamp).
What are you looking forward to most about the X Factor live tour?Definitely being able to spend some quality time with the other contestants, being able to experience my first live tour with one of my close friends and mentors, Samantha, and the chance to bring the atmosphere of the live shows to cities like Hobart and Perth, where fans of The X Factor would not have had the chance to come to Fox Studios for the live shows.
Tell us about the support you get from your fans.I love the support that my followers offer! It’s very lovely to know that there are people out there who care a lot about me as a person and are so willing to follow and support my career.
When was your first live performance? My first live performance as a soloist on a large scale would have been my audition for The X Factor.
Who is your favourite artist?I’m really into a duo called Purity Ring and a young Australian artist called Flume.
Who did you become closest to on the show?I was closest with What About Tonight, Jason, and Samantha, but ultimately, Samantha was my closest friend.
Which state are you most looking forward to visiting on the tour?Probably Tasmania because I’m looking forward to spending time with a friend who lives there – he actually auditioned for The X Factor (which is how I met him), but unfortunately he didn’t make it past Bootcamp.
It is a busy tour schedule, are you up for it?
Yes, I love being kept busy! I’m very much looking forward to it!The X Factor Live Tour is visiting: the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth and Sydney. For more information and to purchase tickets click here
