Tonight The X Factor is celebrating some of the biggest songs in history as our Top 10 contestants tackle Top 10 Hits. Guy, Ronan, Nat and Mel B had loads of cracking tunes to choose from, but here’s what they eventually decided upon:

Justin Standley - “Some Nights” (Fun.)
Nathaniel Willemse - “Try A Little Tenderness” (Otis Redding)
Samantha Jade - “Everytime” (Britney Spears)
The Collective - “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” (New Kids on the Block)
Fourtunate - “Dedication To My Ex” (Lloyd)
Shiane Hawke - “Beautiful” (Christina Aguilera)
Bella Ferraro - “Big Yellow Taxi” (Joni Mitchell)
Angel Tupai - “Next To Me” (Emeli Sandé)
Jason Owen - “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” (Aerosmith)

What do you think of their choices?

Fact is they may of hit number one but boy are they so not hit songs, first Justin and Jason great job on songs that so did not suit you,I fear for Sammie ,Fortunate,Carmelo and Nathaniel, because two of you are going to be in the bottom two , and all from bad song choices rather then bad performances ,and i stand by what I said mentors should choose better songs for their charges in fact Id rather see the performers choosing there own songs and the mentors just mentoring.

I believe these were top 10 hits at certain time periods but certainly not the best over the past 500 years since we heard music on our radios. Seriously, they decided on getting our best to outperform the other? I rather vote on whoever tackles their song the best and The Collective has gone so well this year.

Ummmm for the record 5 of these songs hit #1 in Australia ( you got the right stuff, Everytime, Some nights, Beautiful and Dont wanna miss a thing) . 4 of the others were all top 10 hits most in the top 5 and only one of these songs has not made it into the top ten which is Next to me which has only peaked at 49. so before mouthing off at the ignorance of the judges look a little closer to home!!! As for wether they are the right choices thats a different mattrer but if you are going to criticise at least get the facts straight first!

Sorry I can not stop myself from saying this,Mentors you have made your names in music you have your success already .you should be giving your charges the best possible chance of winning X factor and I must say the songs you are choosing for them are just terrible.you should really be ashamed of yourselves .

I just googled top 100 chart list for last 40 years not one of these so called top 10 songs even made it into the top 100 ,maybe Guy,Nat,and Mel where hold the top 1000 list of all time upside down.when the selected the songs.Ronan only one who does not haft to worry about his charges being in the bottom two at least they have reasonable songs even if not top 10 hits

None of these songs are top ten hits. X-factor has a bad habit of choosing old songs for young contestants and vice-versa.
