The live shows are here and our our contestants are positively bursting with Xcitement! We tracked down a few of them in between their hectic schedules of photo shoots, interviews and rehearsals to talk preparation, performances and partying!
Fresh from a morning of rehearsals, Josh Brookes is feeling excited about Monday night’s show. “Everything’s looking good. My song is a bit vocally challenging but other than that I feel comfortable.” As one of Mel B’s under 25 boys, Josh has been having a blast in the X Factor whirlwind: “It’s just so many new experiences, like working with the Squared Division, having backup dancers, going the Top 12 Launch Party. I’m just taking everything in. I can’t get enough!”
When we spoke with Samantha Jade, she was relaxing on the couch after an exciting night at the Top 12 Launch: “It was so fun! The over 25s can party!” She’s also enjoying her time with the rest of the contestants. “I love all them! I’ve got two younger brothers so I’ve adopted all the younger boys here as my brothers. And with the other contestants we’re all just bonding so well.” As for Monday’s show, Samantha’s feeling “excited but really nervous. I love my song, but it was written for the artist so I’ve got to try to make it my own and that’s the biggest challenge.”
Bella Ferraro also had a lot of fun at the Top 12 Launch Party, but she’s now focussing on her preparation for Monday and giving it everything for the under 25 girls. “I’m feeling really good. I knew my song and I think it’s a song that everyone will know. I’m feeling confident and have been practising hard, trying new things and taking on a lot of what Nat says.” As for the nerves that plagued her during Super Bootcamp, Bella says they are now “more just anticipation, which is a big step forward”.The X Factor Australia goes LIVE on Monday night at 7:30pm. Don’t miss it!
