Time-lapse video shows rapid spread of coronavirus across Melbourne

A new time-lapse video shows how quickly coronavirus has spread throughout Melbourne since late June. The time-lapse of daily active cases by LGA in Greater Melbourne reveals that during May and most of June, a low number of cases were concentrated mainly in the Melbourne City centre. In late June, cases began increasing to the north and west, and with community transmission, the virus spread rapidly during July, with cases across most of the region. Prepared by Esri Australia, the time-lapse uses the same mapping and data analysis technology as the Johns Hopkins University and World Health Organisation COVID-19 dashboards.
