Julia Louis-Dreyfus is telling cancer, “F–k you!”
“Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery,” the Veep star tweeted this week. “Hey cancer, ‘F–k you!’ Here’s my first post op photo.”
The actress revealed last September that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, a revelation she used to shed light on the struggles of those without health care coverage. Dreyfus soon underwent chemotherapy with the support of her family, friends, and Veep cast mates, while the HBO comedy went on a temporary hiatus.
Dreyfus will return to work this August when filming on Veep commences ahead of its planned 2019 return. But she looks as though she could return to work now.
Dreyfus had not been present during this year’s SAG Awards in light of chemo, but she made history anyway. She became the first TV actress to win five individual trophies from the organisation when she was awarded Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
We're happy for you, Elaine!
