Penny has forged an impressive career in musical theatre, television and film in Australia and abroad and her role on Home and Away has brought the international actress back home after spending three years in New York.
"Home and Away is the perfect job; it's filmed in the best city in the world, on the most beautiful beaches, with world class actors and it's summer all year round! What more could a girl ask for?"
Penny's musical theatre career began at the age of 19 when she scored the lead role in the 2002 production of Witches of Eastwick. Her performance saw her nominated for a MO Award. Penny went on to star in Hurlyburly (2005) and as Nessarose in Wicked: The Musical (2009-2010), for the hugely successful Sydney and Melbourne seasons. She won the 2009 Green Room Award for Best Female in a Featured Role for her portrayal of Nessarose.
Penny has scored several guest roles in Australian television series including White Collar Blue (2003), All Saints (2004), Headland (2005) and Hammer Bay (2007). She has also featured in US television series, including the US miniseries remake of Stephen King's Salem's Lot (2003) alongside Rob Lowe and Donald Sutherland, the Steven Spielberg produced HBO series The Pacific (2010), Political Animals (2012), Elementary (2013) and Blue Bloods (2013).
Penny joins Home and Away as Tori – the second eldest sibling of the Morgan family. She's the sweetheart of the family and the friend everyone wants to have. She's also a successful doctor and her knowledge of medicine is second to none.
"Tori has grown up with three brothers so she is quick with a comeback and knows how to laugh at herself. She is highly intelligent and driven, successfully working her way up through the medical profession. She is admired by her co-workers for her professionalism and her kindness. Those who meet Tori enjoy her warmth and sense of humour, but find it hard to reach a deeper level with her as she tends to deflect personal questions."
Outside of acting, Penny is passionate about renovating and blogging and has combined both passions in her own blog about renovations and Do-It-Yourself projects. Penny currently resides in Sydney's inner-west with her husband, Matt, and son, Jack, who is 15 months old.
Penny first appeared as Tori on Monday 2nd May, 2016.
