Rescue group finds home for Cathy and her cat
Mini Kitty Commune founder Derek Knox and his followers helped find shelter for Cathy and her pet. Interview: Michael Dahlstrom
Video transcript
- As soon as I left, I was like, what am I going to do with sage. And I tried to organize if neighbors could take care of her until I knew what I was going to do with her. And I just couldn't fathom leaving her, but I had to. I couldn't bring her in the car, because she would have been run over by cars. You see people coming and going, I couldn't release her just to-- she wouldn't stay in the car.
I wasn't going to put her at risk. So the only thing that I could safely do for her was to leave her in the foyer with food and kitty litter. And I was like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm doing this to you.
- After hearing about Sage and Cathy, it was a group of strangers from cat rescue group Mini Kitty Commune who offered to help. They were able to find temporary accommodation for Sage and a place for Cathy to live.
- How did it go today? I've been wanting to ask.
- Today I've found accommodation.
- Wow.
- And it's not even expensive.
- When does that start?
- Tonight.
- Oh you're going there tonight? Far out.
- I know.
- So you're not sleeping here tonight?
- No
- How long have you been here for?
- Since 26, I think four days or five days, four nights.
- Wow. And this has come through someone seeing the post.
- Yeah.
- And it's secure accommodation?
- Yeah. Wow. All right, we'd better finish up. You've got a massive drive and you've got to work tomorrow.
- I know.
