For celebrity chef, television presenter, author, and brand ambassador Ben O’Donoghue, cooking is a passion and a reflex. Ben started his career working in several top Australian restaurants before moving to London. For four years he worked at the famous River Café, before joining his mate Jamie Oliver at the exclusive Monte’s Club as Executive Chef. Ben’s television credits include four series of the internationally acclaimed food and travel program, Surfing the Menu. On hosting Aussie Barbecue Heroes, Ben said: “I am excited to be part of a team that will unearth some of Australia’s hottest barbecuing talent. I can’t wait to see them fire up the burners. This competition isn’t about throwing some snags on the grill; the contestants will need to display true culinary and creativity skills.”


Jess Pryles, Judge

Born and raised in Melbourne, Jess Pryles found her spiritual home in Austin, Texas where she now resides. Describing herself as a professional Hardcore Carnivore, her expertise lies in all things red meat. Jess creates dynamic original recipes with a Southern and Tex-Mex twist and is also a respected authority on low’n’slow smoked meats, particularly Texas style barbecue. In addition to being a maven of all things meaty, Jess is the creator of the internationally acclaimed event, The Carnivores Ball and co-founder of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance.


Robert Murphy, Judge

Robert won the hearts of Australians when he competed on My Kitchen Rules with his daughter Lynzey. Their iconic Texan-styled steak proved a hit dish on the show earning top marks from judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. The native Texan has been calling Australia home for over 23 years and ensured his cowboy culture followed him to the land down under. Embracing the Texan life in NSW’s Blue Mountains, Robert is a wildlife artist who creates in painting and drawing. The retired visual arts teacher prefers to catch or hunt his own dinner!
