Tesla's built-in camera catches delivery driver's epic mistake

A delivery driver’s epic blunder while dropping off a package has been caught on a Tesla’s built in camera system, leaving Aussies in hysterics.

The “whoopsie” occurred on Tuesday morning as the luxury electric vehicle was parked on the side of a suburban road in Albion Park, Wollongong, its owner said.

In the footage, the delivery driver — who some locals claimed worked for Amazon Australia — can be seen searching for a parcel in his front passenger seat before jumping out of the van and walking across the street to a home.

As he reaches the lawn and does a few stretches to release tension in his lower back, the worker appears oblivious to the fact his white van has started rolling toward the Tesla.

Seconds later it crashes into the vehicle's back bumper, prompting the shocked driver to immediately dart back across the bitumen and take off — all while still holding the package.

“Delivery driver forgets to put handbrake on, leaves car, he does some weird stretches, van hits my car, he drives off without leaving details OR delivering the parcel,” the driver captioned the video on the Facebook page Dash Cam Owners Australia.

Yahoo has contacted Amazon Australia for comment.

Delivery driver 'stretching for hit and run'

The amusing incident has been viewed by more than 35,000 social media users since it was posted on Thursday night, with many Aussies unable to resist poking fun at the unlucky delivery driver.

“Bro is stretching for hit and run,” one person joked. “I don’t usually laugh at these videos but this one was funny,” another said.

“That’s his magician’s warm up — now watch as I make my van move without touching it,” someone else commented. Others applauded the driver for “at least” using the indicator as he fled the area.

Last month, an Australia Post delivery driver was fired after dumping a package on the footpath outside the wrong home.
