A bride has sparked an uproar with a wedding request that scores of people have deemed unreasonable and outright stealing. In a post shared on a popular Facebook page, the woman asked her fellow brides-to-be if she had a right to be upset about her situation.

The future Mrs explained that she had tried her best to make being in the bridal party as affordable as possible for her girlfriends by paying for their hair and makeup, flowers and transportation as she felt bad for "asking people to pay for the things I want." She disclosed that the only thing she had asked her bridesmaids to pay for were their dresses which cost $100.

"Now, my MOH is a teacher which is one of the only reasons I asked her for this," the bride wrote. "I have a lot of kids coming to the wedding and I thought she could set up a small table with pencil crayons, blank paper and maybe some colouring sheets she can photocopy from work. I know at her school she doesn't pay for any of the supplies because I worked with her."

The bride continued, "Simply when I asked her if she can grab a few things to set up that table she said I could just go to the store and buy them and set it up myself (which is true I could). But I thought since I am covering all the costs other than her dress, the least she can do is grab some stuff that wouldn't cost her anything and give it to the planner to set it up."

The post, as you'd imagine, was quickly met with comments from incredulous people who couldn't believe what they were reading.

"Ahhh yes because schools are swimming in extra supplies," wrote one bemused person.

"Yes let’s steal from the children, because schools are so rich," added someone else with a couple of eye-roll emojis.

"That would be stealing from the school," said another.

"And the Dollar Store exists," chimed in another. "WTF is this bride thinking?"

"Hey risk getting fired so I can save a few bucks bestie?," another person wrote while someone else said, "risk getting fired so I don't have to spend $7 on supplies."

"Asking your teacher MOH to help set up a kids' table with some activities? OK," said one group member. "Asking your teacher MOH to steal from her place of work to do it? Nope."

Others jumped in with their personal knowledge and experience of the school system and how off-colour the bride's request truly was.

"Wouldn’t cost her anything but her job," someone wrote. "I worked for a title 1 school up until recently and I promise you they keep up with who takes what, especially when it comes to printer paper & copies."

"I work at a school and we have an allotted dollar amount we can spend each month in printing, so this is an issue," explained another.

"Have I taken things from my school to utilise at my home before? Yes. Because I WAS THE ONE TO BUY THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!," raged a different member. "Does this bride not realise that some schools require teachers to provide their own papers? Or they lock the copy machine up? My god. The ignorance in this request."

Someone else wrote, "I’m a teacher at a well-supplied school (which I’m blessed and thankful for every single day). I’d laugh outright at this bride. Why? Because I sure as hell am not risking getting fired for stealing from my job. For anyone or any purpose."

While most of the comments were fairly angry, a few people made lighthearted jokes about the situation with one member writing, "Gosh, I never thought of assigning my bridesmaids based on their employment. One of my friends is a florist, I could have saved a whole lot if I had asked her to just grab a few things from work."

But perhaps it was this comment that really just summed the whole thing up perfectly with their comment that read, "I cannot get over the f*cking AUDACITY of some of these people."

Cheers to that.
