Is subscribing to OnlyFans cheating? Relationship experts weigh in

A popular OnlyFans couple has said there's one specific thing that constitutes as cheating.

What constitutes as cheating? The real answer is that opinions vary depending on who you ask, what type of relationship they're in, and where their boundaries lie.

When it comes to relationships, Aussies are still divided over what really constitutes as doing the dirty on your partner. There’s a grey area that couples have battled since the beginning of time, causing rifts, resentment, or worse, a relationship breakdown. While some argue that simply subscribing to adult content on a platform like OnlyFans isn't inherently cheating, the question remains: where do you draw the line?

According to Aussie relationship experts Stace, an intimacy and sex coach, and her partner Ty, a fitness model and health coach, the couple believe that subscribing to OnlyFans is considered cheating if you do one specific thing.

“If someone has subscribed in secrecy and is developing an emotional or physical connection to the OnlyFans' model(s) they have subscribed to, then yes, it certainly would be considered a form of cheating," Ty said.

Stace agreed with this sentiment, explaining, “Anything that is done in secrecy or hidden from your partner should be considered cheating, or crossing the line. If you run a self-check and have to bend the truth or hide your phone, it’s a form of cheating.”

Stace also added that if people are speaking with or watching an OnlyFans creator over being with and connecting with their partner, that would also be deemed a "red flag" and that "lines are being crossed".

For Stace & Ty, who cater to a diverse OnlyFans following, including couples looking to enhance their intimacy, the issue is about transparency and communication.

“We have a number of couples who subscribe to our OnlyFans as they watch our content together, so they are both engaging with us and enjoying the content. We also have male-only subscribers who have partners, and we encourage them to enjoy watching our content with their partner, so everyone is included.”

The couple emphasises the importance of prioritising one's partner and maintaining open dialogue.

"If your partner expresses discomfort with your online activities, it's crucial to have an honest conversation about it," says Stace. "Brushing it off or disregarding their feelings can indicate deeper issues within the relationship."

They also acknowledge that perceptions of infidelity can vary but stress the importance of intention.

"It's natural to find others attractive, but it's the intention behind the interaction that matters," explains Ty. "If you're intentionally hiding conversations or being flirtatious, then the question of cheating really comes into play."

Stace & Ty urge couples to address concerns openly and honestly, emphasising mutual respect and understanding.

“If you find your partner has secretly subscribed to OnlyFans, it’s important to have an honest conversation with them about it, [especially] if it makes you uncomfortable. People hiding anything like that from their partners is a red flag – if they have felt the need to do it in secrecy, they know it’s something their partner wouldn’t be comfortable with.”
