So, what now, you handcuff me to a tree, drive off...?
Kyle is the product of an affair his mother had with a married man. Kyle has lived his entire life as Dad’s ‘dirty little secret’.
Kyle’s mother struggled with an alcohol problem so Kyle’s early years were difficult for him… the only real joy he had were the occasional ‘visits’ his father made and he hung onto those moments as if they were a lifeline and came to resent passionately the necessity of sharing his father with this ‘other family’.
When Kyle was approaching his teens, his father was sent to prison for armed robbery and by his mid-teens, Kyle’s mother was gone and he was set up with a foster family who did their very best to provide him with a good life, a solid education.
But all Kyle wanted was to re-establish contact with his father. And the second he finished school he set about doing just that.
The ‘brothers’ he hated so much had wiped their hands of the man and so, for the first time in his life, Kyle had his Dad all to himself. He loved it and made the most of it, ensuring that he accommodated his father’s every wish.
When he found out that his half brother Casey Braxton had killed his father, he was hell bent on revenge. Kidnapping Casey and leaving him to die in the desert seemed appropriate pay back. He didn’t bank on the tenacity of Brax to find his brother and the subsequent mission to bring Kyle back from Melbourne and force him to testify on behalf of Casey.
He also realised the strength of the ‘blood bond’. Brax understood he was a victim of his abhorrent father and took him in as family.
His relationship with Casey has been tested over and over again, especially when he discovered he was in love with Casey’s girlfriend Tamara.
Now with Brax in gaol, will the Braxton clan keep it together?
