Protesters Vandalize Restaurant and Block Roads in Hong Kong's Tai Po
Hong Kong’s northern district of Tai Po was disrupted by tear gas–firing police and protesters who broke a plate-glass window of at least one restaurant and blocked roads on November 11, a day that saw escalating violence throughout the city.
This footage shows protesters smashing the glass wall of a Yoshinoya – a Japanese chain restaurant serving beef on rice – within the Tai Po Center mall.
Elsewhere in Tai Po, protesters set up roadblocks, which brought the neighborhood to a standstill, according to the South China Morning Post.
Yoshinoya – along with other businesses such as Starbucks and Bank of China – has been repeatedly targeted by Hong Kong’s anti-government protesters due to its parent company showing a perceived support of Beijing, according to Nikkei Asian Review. Credit: SocREC via Storyful
