Memorial Day Weekend Draws Crowds to Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach Police said “larger than normal crowds” were seen in the area on May 23 as Florida residents marked Memorial Day weekend.

Daytona Beach Police said the crowds “were compliant when asked to disperse” and no arrests were made.

Footage released by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office showed a large crowd blocking a highway in the area, prompting officers to shut down surrounding bridges and roads.
