The group sang happy birthday to their patient Bruno, presented him with a paper certificate, and brought him a cake.

Choked up, Bruno thanked his well-wishers and said the gesture was “marvelous” and “beautiful.”

“This is the Italian Army, this is the Italy that the world likes! Happy birthday Bruno, our guest in the field hospital in Piacenza!” wrote the Italian Army on their social posts.
