Dominic Cummings Heckled on London Street Amid Fresh Reports He Breached Lockdown Rules

Protesters gathered near the home of the UK prime minister’s chief aide Dominic Cummings on Sunday, May 24, as he faced new allegations that he breached lockdown rules.

Footage taken on Sunday shows Cummings being heckled as he walks down a street in the London borough of Islington.

The UK government has backed Cummings and said he acted “reasonably and legally” after it emerged that he traveled 260 miles from London to his parents’ estate in County Durham while his wife had coronavirus symptoms at the end of March, in breach of lockdown rules. Cummings has said he made the trip to be near relatives.

However, new allegations emerged over the weekend when The Observer and Sunday Mirror reported that Cummings made a second trip to the area after returning to London, and did not stay indoors while in Durham.

Cummings, who has been given the full backing of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said on Saturday that he would not resign and had done the “right thing.” Credit: @LiveInUKLoveEU via Storyful
