Belarusian Premier League Continues Despite Coronavirus Pandemic

Soccer fans around the world are turning their attention to the Belarusian Premier League as it continues with matches despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Belarus is the only country in Europe that has not suspended or cancelled its main league due to the virus’s spread.

Eight top flight matches were played at the weekend.

The video shows players from FC Smolevichi competing against FC Isloch at an almost empty Dinamo Stadium in Minsk.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko recently dismissed the global health crisis as a “psychosis”, and is refusing to follow the restrictions and lockdowns in place across Europe.
