'Almost Tornado-Type' Storm Brings Flooding Rain to Toronto

Flash flooding was reported in Toronto on July 8 as severe weather swept through the Canadian city.

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the city and said the storm was capable of producing “strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.”

“Etobicoke got hit pretty hard with this almost tornado type storm,” Mark Frias posted to Twitter with a video showing heavy rain pouring and reducing visibility in the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke. Credit: Mark Frias via Storyful
