Greta Thunberg overwhelmed with emotions while recalling spat with Trump

During Thursday's PBS special "Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World," the young environmental activist recalled President Trump mocking her and other activists at the World Economic Forum because they care too much. But Greta believes caring is one of her greatest assets.

"I'm very emotional, I'm very small, and I'm very weak in a way," Thunberg said. "That's something I'm very proud of."

Thunberg, who often attends environmental rallies to encourage others, was overcome with emotions while discussing how meaningful it is to care about all global citizens.

She said, "If you feel bad today, so many people are so sad and so depressed but that's a good thing because that means they still have empathy and they don't want to live in this world where we have lost empathy."

Thunberg also believes that a true leader is someone focused on the betterment of society, and that Trump's obsession with money and superficial prowess are the traits of a flawed leader.

"So many people come up to me and say they believe that there's something wrong with them because they are feeling like s***," Thunberg said. "But I think it's the opposite. It's the rest who can maintain living in this society where we only care about prestige, and these are shallow things that don't matter, and being the best and so on. Those are the people who are not normal."
