‘Big Brother’ contestant calls for justice in Breonna Taylor shooting on live television

“Big Brother” featured the first eviction vote of the season Thursday night. During the live vote, one houseguest seized the moment to call for justice. On occasion, houseguests will use the time to give a shout-out to friends and family, but Da’Vonne Rogers used her moment to raise awareness. After casting her vote, she said, “Justice for Breonna Taylor,” Taylor’s name has become a rallying cry for advocates. Rogers, who is Black, contributed to the multitude of voices calling for the police officers involved in Taylor’s fatal shooting in March to be held accountable. Rogers received a lot of praise for her actions, as the vast majority of viewer reactions on social media were positive and supportive.
