Reese Witherspoon’s style evolution: From cowboy boots to designer gowns

Reese Witherspoon has had her fair share of fashion statements and the occasional faux pas. At 15, she made one of her first red carpet appearances in cowboy boots. In the ’90s, chokers were a staple for the up-and-coming actress. She also had a passion for black, stepping out in the classic color with now ex-husband Ryan Phillippe by her side. In true Elle Woods fashion, Witherspoon wore pink to the premiere of “Legally Blonde.” She even had a brunette moment — yes, this blond beauty went to the dark side at the 2004 Venice Film Festival. Her hairstyle truly popped against her light blue Carolina Herrera dress. In 2006, Witherspoon turned to high fashion, accepting an Academy Award in a stunning Christian Dior gown. One thing this celeb is not afraid of is color! At the 2012 Golden Globes she was red-hot in a Zac Posen design. Four years later, she wore a custom purple Oscar de la Renta gown. She wasn’t the only one. Tina Fey wore a nearly identical purple gown too — whoops! Check out the video above to follow Reese Witherspoon’s style evolution.
