All X Factor net profits go to Sony Foundation’s ‘You Can’ program to build specialised and age-appropriate youth cancer centres across Australia.
The Top 12 jumped at the chance to perform and record the charity single, a first for X Factor in Australia. According to judge and Sony Foundation ambassador, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, “The contestants had so much fun performing Call Me Maybe and they were delighted to be helping out young Australians with cancer. This is an important cause very close to my heart and I am so proud of them for lending their support.”
The catchy single is sure to have people across the country singing along with the The X Factor stars. Judge, Guy Sebastian said, “I am extremely impressed with the talent amongst the final 12 and their involvement with the Sony Foundation is a great experience for them. It is important at this early stage of their career to see the impact they might have one helping others and touching those in need.”
Sony Foundation CEO, Sophie Ryan said, “It is incredibly exciting to be part of this Australian first, X Factor charity single. Thank you to The X Factor for helping our young Australians battling cancer.”
