This time last year, 24-year-old Johnny Ruffo was a concreter in Balcatta, Western Australia. One year on, he made it to the Top 3 in last year’s series of The X FactorThe X Factor, was runner up in Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year and won 2012’s Dancing With The Stars.
A keen songwriter, Johnny’s love for music became his life last year when he auditioned for The X FactorThe X Factor and ended up coming third in the series to Andrew Wishart and Reece Mastin. A fan favourite for his cheeky personality and smooth dance moves, Johnny also impressed with judges with his hard work ethic and continuous improvement through the competition.
Since The X FactorThe X Factor, Johnny took out the mirror ball trophy on this year’s Dancing With The StarsDancing With The Stars against celebrities like Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Brendan Fevola and Shannon Noll. He was also nominated in Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year which he came second.
Johnny has also released his debut single, On Top, through Sony Music and completed a national sell-out tour with Reece Mastin, One Direction and New Kids On The Block.
His idols are Michael Jackson, Usher and Justin Timberlake and in his spare time, is a mad AFL fan.
