World's Strictest Parents

Stacey, 16, Sydney, NSW

After six suspensions and repeated truancy, Stacey’s decided school just isn’t for her. “School is hell,” she says. “I made a teacher quit her job last year. I’ve been into fights...I have thrown books and chairs out of windows…fruit up at the fans.”

She’s loud and brash with an opinion on everything. “If I don’t like someone, I will tell them. If I think they are an ugly mole I will tell them,” she says. “Rules are meant to be broken.”

According to parents Peter and Gayle, she went off the rails after they split two years ago. She now lives with her father, who's struggling to keep his daughter’s wild behaviour in check.

“You can’t usually get in her room because it’s full of clothes and food, drink bottles and empty cigarette packets,” he says. “She’s got two pet rats and trying to get her to clean the cage for them is really difficult. Her room is normally a pig sty. We had a plague of cockroaches and I said no wonder because they’re breeding in there.” Stacey also drinks heavily and smokes three packets of cigarettes a week. “She goes out, comes home from late, has a few drinks and smokes like a train.”

Stacey adds, “I party every weekend. I go hard or go home. My last session of drinking I had 11 shots and half a bottle of cowboys. I crashed through my bedroom window, tackling a friend and then an hour later I was in hospital having a panic attack.”

Her last party got way out of hand with over 200 people showing up. “I really can’t remember that much of it because I was so drunk. I had the biggest hangover. Daddy wasn’t happy. All of his alcohol got stolen.”

She’s heavily into boys and getting their attention, much to her parents’ dismay. Gayle says, “She likes boys a lot. Probably too much.”

Peter adds, “As she’s got older, she’s discovered boys. You just hope she doesn’t get into trouble.” Both her parents are at a loss over what to do with their tearaway teen. “It has been very hard,” Gayle says. “I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy.”
