60 Seconds With Donny...
What is your idea of happiness?
Living and breathing what I love most and that's fashion. I love helping real every day Aussies to look good and feel fabulous through clothes and fashion. I just love playing with clothes, shoes and accessories. Why wouldn't you be happy when you get to play dress ups everyday?
Who do you most admire?
I admire successful people who have turned their passions into a thriving businesses. Some people that I really admire include Sir Richard Branson, Oprah and Tom Ford.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Each year I try take an overseas holiday for 3 or 4 weeks to re-charge myself and re-boot my creative energy. Being away really reinvigorates my creativity and I always come back feeling extra inspired and motivated.
What is your biggest regret?
As much as I love and value my years at university, I sometimes wish that I had delved straight into the fashion industry. But hey, I have a university degree and that is always a great thing to have under your belt.
What is your greatest achievement?
I am so proud to be an Australia Day Ambassador for three consecutive years, it is such an honour. When I first got the call, I thought it was someone playing a prank on me.
What is your most treasured possession?
My grandfathers gold wedding ring. I was very close to my grandfather, we even share the same name. I absolutely treasure his wedding ring and I know that his spirit is always around me.
What do you appreciate the most about your friends?
I have a small circle of very close friends, they are always there for me, 24/7. My best friend Maria has been my bestie since day one of kindergarten. We are like brother and sister, she means the world to me.
What is your favourite food and drink?
I just love food full stop. I love cooking and eating. I can't say I have just one favourite, I love Thai, Spanish, Italian, (good) Mexican and Greek. I love to drink a good sangria and I love chilled Limoncello.
Do you have any nicknames?
How did you get them? Lots of my friends call me 'DG' which are my initials but it also happen to be the initials of a favourite fashion label of mine that I love 'Dolce and Gabbana'. Lots of people don't know this but my real (birth) name is Donato, and some of my close friends call me this in jest. Or my mum calls me that when I'm in trouble.
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Cindy Crawford. in the 90's I was obsessed with the 'Supermodels', Cindy Crawford in particular. My bedroom walls were plastered with posters and pictures. If she ever comes to Sydney, I will beg the producers to allow me to interview her or even be in the same room as her. I look at her today, and I am still in awe of her beauty and elegance.
Finish this sentence. I love The Morning Show because...I love The Morning Show because it's like a good bra…. its supportive, comfortable, always lifts you up, makes you look better and always close to your heart.
