Australia needs around 27,000 blood donations each week. Over the course of their lives 1 in 3 Australians will need blood or blood products however only 1 in 30 donates. This massive challenge to educate and encourage more Australians to donate blood is a key reason why The Morning Show has made the Australian Red Cross Blood Service its Charity of the Year partner for 2011/12.

Throughout the year, The Morning Show and Channel 7 will be helping the Blood Service spread the word about the importance of giving blood. You’ll see Channel 7 regulars lending a hand, on-air segments featuring real life stories from patients who have needed blood and AFL stars rolling up their sleeves to donate.
