One of the funniest and most consistently entertaining shows on Australian television, Thank God You’re Here emerged from a remarkably simple premise. Dress someone in a costume and get them to step through a door into a world they know nothing about. Since its debut in 2006 the show instantly went on to become a ratings hit. This year sees Thank God You’re Here launch on Channel 7 with an even bigger set and wilder scenarios. Shane Bourne will again host the show, with Tom Gleisner returning in his role as resident judge.

Many of the show’s favourite performers will be making their return, along with a host of new and unexpected faces. Co-creator Tom Gleisner explains the show’s philosophy.

“Thank God You’re Here is a celebration of our guests’ ability to think on their feet – and in someone else’s clothes. It’s about the ability to bulls**t your way through a situation where you are clearly out of your depth. We all know Australians can dance, sing, cook, improve their manners and lose ridiculous amounts of weight. But can they bluff their way through whatever scene lays waiting through the door? That’s what we aim to find out each week”.
