What does Organic and Free range really mean?

This morning, nutritionist Susie Burrell joined us to explain the rules surrounding the choices you face when buying eggs at the supermarket.

"Organic technically means the production of food without the use of any synthetic chemicals or fertilizers."

Prices are lowering the more people buy organic but the production costs are often greater for organic produce.

Freshness is also vital to getting the nutritional benefits from organic food.

"If you have the dodgy old carrots that have been sitting there for a week, nutritionally," "it is not going to be any better," warns Susie.

Organic Food - tips
