Alex may be the middle child at 14, but she's definitely the queen of the Waverly Place castle. She pretty much follows the "cast magic first, ask questions later" motto, much to her parents' disappointment. One thing's for sure, her unsupervised magic definitely makes for an entertaining day in the Russo household! Stylish and savvy, Alex embraces her individuality and would rather live life her own way than follow the herd.

  1. The Russo family appears to be your typical New York City family; however, they are nothing of the sort. Alex, Justin and Max are not only everyday kids but also wizards-in-training; competing with each other for the title of number one wizard. Why the competition? Only the best of the three gets to keep their magical abilities after the age of eighteen.

  3. Justin is 16 and the oldest brother of the Russo clan. Disciplined when it comes to class, Justin is always excited to learn more, whether the subject is magic or everyday school work. However, with experience also comes responsibility - Justin is always picking up after Alex and Max's magical messes.
  4. At 12, Max is the youngest Russo who's always up for taking things to the max! Whether it's playing practical jokes on Alex or Justin or avoiding all homework and vegetables, Max is always ready for a challenge. When he's not practicing magic or joking around with his siblings, Max can generally be found concocting a crazy sandwich or causing chaos all over Waverly Place.
  5. Jerry is not only Dad to the Russo kids but is also instructor of Wizard Class and owner of the Waverly Place Sub Shop. When he's not cleaning up after the kids' magic-gone-amok, he can generally be found showing them how to conduct a spell (correctly) or dodging Alex's unscrupulous requests. However, all the kids know that if the request is coupled with chocolate pudding, well, there's a very good chance Dad is going to say yes - after all, it IS his favourite food.
  6. Theresa is Mum to Alex, Justin and Max as well as ambassador to their Latino heritage. Along with Jerry, Theresa runs the Waverly Place Sub Shop and is always trying to stay one step ahead of her kids' magical mishaps. She's also ready to offer up magical advice for any non-magical teenage problems they may face.
