“Everyone has different ideas on what makes a stylish home but, when you’re charging people to stay there, certain rules must apply. I’m looking for cleanliness, comfort and reasonable value for money,” says Juliet on her
judging criteria.

A former editor-in-chief of Vogue Magazine, Juliet is now partner and creative director of CHADA, an internationally noted design company specialising in luxury hotels and resorts.

Juliet was educated in London and has a Masters Degree in International Development. She was headhunted to move to Australia in 1993 and worked in a number of editing positions including editor in chief of Vogue Australia.

“I decided to make pure design my life 17 years ago and together with my colleagues, we’ve made CHADA one of the most respected boutique design firms in the world. It’s been an amazing journey!” she says.

Juliet was one of the design luminaries chosen to consult the Australian Government as a delegate at the Australia 2020 conference.

“When Channel 7 approached me about INSTANT HOTEL it seemed like such a relevant concept given the growth of the homestay market.

“I’ve stayed in several Airbnb properties around the world - some fantastic and some not so fantastic- so I think this is a great opportunity to show people who are wanting to rent out their own home, what works and what doesn’t!

“Our homes are our castles so criticism is sometimes hard to take but I expect INSTANT HOTEL hosts to be professional about their homestay businesses. That’s what it takes to be the best!” Juliet says.
