When considering why her 30 year-old son Vlad is still single, Milena Lalic’s response is simple.

“My son hasn’t married because he’s picky with girls and maybe he has too many things on his list,” says the Adelaide

mother of two who never misses an episode of Deal or No Deal.

Vlad and his family (father Milenko and brother Sasha) are Milena’s world. She proudly runs the house cooking

and cleaning for her family. Milena’s looking for this same dedication to family life in Vlad’s future wife.

“Someone who respects her parents as well as me and my husband,” she says. “Someone who is happy and bubbly,

easy going, friendly and she must know how to cook and clean. A family oriented person.”

Born in Serbia, Milena immigrated to Australia with her parents in 1971 and married her husband Milenko one year later.

“The day was very exciting, a happy wedding,” she recalls. “A traditional church wedding in a Serbian Orthodox Church. A wedding of approximately 80-100 people. There was music and a lot of dancing, no different to any traditional wedding today.”

Happily married for 40 years Milena hopes to help Vlad, who she describes as “honest, loving and hard-working” find the same happiness she has experienced with her husband.

“My son should be looking for a good, honest person to love him for who he is and not want to change him. Someone with strong family values who respects herself and others. A loving and caring person who has the ability to raise his future children.”

When not in the kitchen whipping up plates of her famous sarma or burek, Milena spends her spare time listening to Serbian folk music.

A wife should: Always love and respect her husband for better or worse.

My son’s celebrity bride would be: Jessica Marais (ex-Packed to the Rafters). She comes across as a nice person who would get along with her family and friends and is very beautiful.
