Brooke Satchwell likes surprises!

Hugh Sheridan (Ben Rafter) and George Houvardas (Nick 'Carbo' Karandonis) are famous for their on-set antics including one called 'naked surprise,' where they run into the Rafters kitchen with only a strategically placed saucepan to maintain their dignity.

Will Brooke be able to handle their boyish humour? Of course, in fact she will be one of the boys. Her character 'Frankie" was a real tomboy growing up and loved accompanying her dad on jobs.

He was an electrician and she was the son he never had (sadly he died recently). Frankie can’t remember ever wanting to be anything else and it was in the small family business that she was apprenticed and where she has worked for the bulk of her sparkie career.

As a woman in a predominantly male industry Frankie has had years of experience with varying degrees of sexism, and handles it all with resigned good humour. To her it’s water off a duck’s back.

As she starts work at Rafters Electrical, there’s something in her close, easy-going connection with Dave that reminds her strongly of her father.

Brooke's character is not adverse to playing pranks either. She teams up with her new bestie Sian and creates an awkward situation as payback for a two-timing ex boyfriend.

"They cast a new best friend and I'm keeping her in real life too," said Brooke about Samantha Tolj who plays Sian Parry.

That pretty much sums up Sian’s relationship with Frankie. They balance each other out. Sian tempers Frankie’s wilder instincts, while Frankie has a knack for bringing out Sian’s more mischievous side. The women also consider each other to be the perfect barometer for potential boyfriends – any of Sian’s suitors will usually be invited out to meet Frankie for her verdict - and vice-versa.

Brooke and Samantha will be on our screens soon.
