Meet Ben Rafter

We chat to the cheeky Hugh Sheridan

Melissa Bannon, 26, is an attractive, plain-speaking nurse with a mysterious past.

“She’s very relaxed and down to earth,” Zoe says about her character. “She’s like one of the boys and is very comfortable in her own skin.”

Originally from Perth, she moves next door to the Rafters with their middle son Ben and his best mate Nick ‘Carbo’ Karandonis. The pair seem to think a female flatmate will take care of the cleaning and household chores. But they soon learn Melissa is far from the domestic goddess they had hoped for. But she’s very easy on the eye, so they’re willing to let her messiness slide. Both men are powerfully attracted to her but Carbo has set a household rule: no sleeping with flatmates!

“She and the boys have a very different idea about what her role is inside the house,” Zoe explains. “It doesn’t take long before they realise she isn’t going to be their house maid. She’s no pushover that’s for sure.Ben and Carbo are a funny, comedy duo. So it’s great when you add her to the mix. She certainly sets their pulses racing but romance is the last thing on her mind.”

Melissa reveals little about her past, hesitant to share any details about where she’s from or her family. “As the series progresses, you’ll learn more about Melissa,” Zoe says. “She does have a hidden past which will reveal itself slowly.”
