"Prepare to say goodbye to Flight of the Conchords : the future of the cult comedy will be decided in the next month, according to its creators.
Jemaine Clement, one half of the comedy duo that created and stars in the series, told Reuters "it very likely might not" return for another, owing to the amount of work that goes into writing the songs and scripts for each episode.
"We've got to write the series, but we've also got to write the songs, and just dividing your time into those two writing tasks is really tricky," he said.
But even if the Emmy Award-nominated series is grounded, fans shouldn't give up hope of seeing Clement and his co-star Bret McKenzie on screen again.
"[ Flight of the Conchords ] could come back in a shorter season or like a special," Clement said.
Representatives from HBO, the US pay TV network that produces the series, said that the future of Conchords is "entirely in [Clement and McKenzie's] hands".
Flight of the Conchords airs in Australia on Channel [V]."

Ain't it always the way? Suddenly these kiwi battlers are beset with creative difficulties oh dear, ennui, I vant to be alone blues, I should get first credit, HBO are ripping us off blues, etc..etc...
what a great show !!! but sometimes it's better to leave on a high rather than let it get too similar. faulty towers and the young ones are classics that made less than 20 episodes but people still love them today because they didn't flog them to death!!
best comedy series. I die laughing to these two act. Way better than Aussie comedy.
Totally agree Lee, their show is easy the best thing on TV and great viewing over and over again. Please keep going boys for all comedy and music fans sakes.
They cant go. Why don't they take as long as it takes to write and not be limited by timeframes and then put out the shows. Its just such wonderful comedy we don't want you to go away.
