"While all the pretty young stars of Gossip Girl seem to be hooking up with each other, the course of true love isn't running so smooth for the older castmembers. According to People magazine, Kelly Rutherford has followed in the footsteps of her character in the cult teen series — New York City society queen and serial divorcee Lily Bass — and filed for divorce from her husband of two years, German entrepreneur Daniel Giersch. Filing divorce papers on December 30, Rutherford reportedly cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. People adds that Rutherford's divorce will not affect Gossip Girl 's shooting schedule: she's expected to be on set when production on the series resumes in early January. The 40-year-old actress is three months pregnant with her and Giersch's second child, though the pregnancy is unlikely to be factored into Gossip Girl 's storylines. The former couple's first child, Hermes, is two years old. Rutherford was previously married to banker Carlos Tarajano from June 2001 to January 2002. Prior to Gossip Girl , she had roles in the TV series Threat Matrix and Melrose Place . Gossip Girl airs on FOX8 on Tuesdays at 8.30pm."
