From around the country, 12 teams of contestants have begun their culinary adventure on the highly anticipated series return of My Kitchen Rules. The journey began with the announcement of a shock elimination twist by judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel: this year the lowest scoring teams from each group at the end of the Instant Restaurant round will be will eliminated. With the pressure on, childhood sweethearts from Victoria Kerri and Craig were the first team to host a three-course themed dinner party for Pete, Manu and the Group 1 contestants. While their 70s inspired restaurant theme was a hit with guests, Kerrie and Craig’s night was far from smooth sailing with sparks flying between the couple in the kitchen as they raced against the clock. As temperatures soared in the kitchen, the dining room also reached boiling point with outspoken Queenslander Jake rubbing more than a few contestants the wrong way with his sharp tongue and know-it-all attitude. Not to be outdone, Sydney’s ‘Spice Girls’, Jessie and Biswa, also had jaws dropping with some peculiar dining table antics and a shock prediction that judges would award all three of their dishes a perfect 10.In the end, Kerry and Craig’s creative cooking came out on top with an imaginative main dish of Game Wallaby w/ Basil Risotto & Caramelized Beetroot surprising everyone and emerging as the highest scoring dish of the night.Next is the Tasmanian father and son duo Mick and Matt, who will be serving up their own style of instant restaurant. Will these true-blue lads score a ticket to the top of the leaderboard or could it all end in tears? My Kitchen Rules, Channel 7, at 7:30 pm.Join the conversation at the official My Kitchen Rules Facebook page and log into FANGO for the ultimate My Kitchen Rules live experience.

Kerri and Craig, congratulations. First cab of the rank, you did well :-)
ReplyI've have been so excited for the show to start, it was great except I thought Jake was so very very rude, no manners, how dare he call her a mole he should be kicked off. the two lasses from sydney!! wont go there. Still I love the show, just hope jake is made accountable for his rude comment .....
ReplyI was really looking forward to the show last night but was so disappointed by the couples that have been chosen. Those two girls from NSW should be replaced with another couple as they were pathetic and so immature and wrecked the whole show for me and that young guy Jake was such a nob! I hope the Tassie guys go really well tonight and that the NSW girls and Jake learn to have some manners and just shut their mouths and eat all three of the dishes that are served to them and respect the couple that are trying their hardest to serve up the meals under so much pressure. Also hope there is a time limit on how long they take this year to get the meals on the table so everyone doesn't have to wait for hours like last year.
ReplyI love this show but Channel 7 really needs to stop having so many ad breaks. It really ruins it for me. I don't really watch ads so it's annoying to have to get up so many times during the show to find things to do while the ads are on. The indian girls are pathetic with their fussiness and should not be on a cooking show. I also thought it quite disgusting the way Kerri last night was speaking to her husband. Talk about bossy. I'm from Victoria but say Go Tassie!
