Prince Harry was reportedly devastated after King Charles refused to see him in London, even for a short moment, during his recent UK visit. The Duke of Sussex was in London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, and many royal watchers were left wondering if he would see his dad during his brief visit.

However, a spokesperson for Harry issued a statement revealing the father and son would not be catching up. The statement read: "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program.

"The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

This statement was taken as saying the King chose not to clear any part of his schedule to see his youngest son, with royal author Tom Quinn saying Harry actually found the snub to be quite "painful", despite making it sound like this was not the case.

"He was deeply shocked at his father’s blunt refusal to see him even for a moment," Quinn told The Mirror. "This time the rejection was particularly painful because it was so public – Harry may have issued a statement saying he completely understood why his father didn’t have time to see him, but everyone knows the real reason had nothing to do with busy schedules."

The Daily Mail's Richard Eden has claimed the King's "full program" had nothing to do with Harry and Charles not catching up.

"He doesn’t need the drama in his life," he says a source close to the King revealed to him. "Harry and Meghan have brought him, and the rest of the family, nothing but worries over the past few years."

Eden adds that he doesn't believe that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle won't be able to repair the feud until they apologise for criticising the royal family countless times.

Charles is reportedly most upset about Harry's portrayal of his wife Queen Camilla in his book Spare.
