Erika Heynatz

Erika Heynatz - Biography

It Takes Two series one winner Erika Heynatz is back on familiar turf – though this time she’s in the new role of co-host.

“It’s a big change going from competitor to co-host,” Erika said. “I know first hand the tough terrain the competitors have to navigate and I want to be able to be there to make sure they get the most out of the experience.”

Erika has evolved from model to actor, television presenter, narrator and radio announcer and now recording artist.

The multi-talented Erika is no stranger to the microphone. After she and It Takes Two partner David Hobson were crowned series one champions, Erika went on to co-write and produce her first album for the EMI/Ministry of Sound label which is in its final stages of production.

Over the past year Erika has travelled the world collaborating with highly respected producers such as John Alagia who most recently produced albums for John Mayer and Ben Lee. This journey was immensely challenging but creatively, incredibly rewarding for Erika.

Prior to that, Erika’s vocal abilities made a successful foray onto the airwaves. Erika was declared by public vote the winner of Triple M’s three-week radio school and became a regular guest on Triple M’s The Cage. She was also guest host of Mix FM’s Right A Wrong promotion.

Former model Erika became a regular fixture on Australian television when she won the role of presenter on series one and two of Australia’s Next Top Model. Erika’s extraordinary talent did not go unnoticed winning an Astra for Best Female Presenter in 2007.

Her popularity and industry knowledge ensured that she was the top choice to be the Australian correspondent for the eighth cycle of America’s Next Top Model airing world-wide also in 2007.

As well as roles in the television series Farscape, Headstart and Crash Palace, Erika has appeared in the television and feature films Heroes’ Mountain, Mermaids, George of the Jungle 2 and Voodoo Lagoon. Her most recent film role was the lead in the feature film, Gabriel which was released in November 2007 to critical acclaim. The next film role is for a Sony Play Station 3 game called L.A Noir to be released later in the year.

Erika is an accomplished speaker and MC for fashion festivals, product launches and industry showcases.
