Sasha is the daughter of Sid Walker – although Sid doesn’t know until she turns up at Summer Bay hospital after the death of her mother.
Along with her little half-brother, Sasha’s life was ordinary enough – just another working class family battling along – until their mother was tragically killed in a car accident, leaving them orphaned.
Sid is duly informed of her existence, but there has been some delay, so he meets her after months of grieving, misery and building resentment. As a result he is landed with a rebellious, furious teenager – expecting him to support her.
Initially, she has no respect or love for Sid – he’s just a means to an end. Though she’s happy to meet with other half-siblings, Dex and Indi, she is uncontrollable, naughty and independent.
Wanting to appear grown up, Sasha begins a relationship with Stu Henderson. She falls for him immediately despite not knowing much about him. But Stu isn’t a nice guy. He’s overly protective of Sasha and begins reprimanding her with violence for talking with other guys. Still grieving over the death of her mother, a broken Sasha puts up with Stu’s constant abuse, forgiving him in the hope that she will be able to change him.
When her father Sid finds out about the abuse, he gets involved, so much so that he becomes the prime suspect when Stu turns up dead. However, it is later found that Sasha killed Stu in self-defense.
On the rebound, Sasha dates Xavier and Casey – with whom she suffers a pregnancy scare after losing her virginity to the Braxton brother – before finding love with sensible, good guy, Spencer. Initially, the pair keep their relationship under wraps for fear of upsetting Spencer’s ex-girlfriend - and Sasha’s friend - Maddy.
However, when Spencer goes off his Bipolar medication - thinking that all girls like a bad boy - Sasha questions exactly who she has fallen in love with. She wants to break up with him, but he asks her to stand by him as he seeks alternative ways of controlling his moods.
