Hi everyone

I hope you all had a good week. We’ve had a few ups and downs, especially Miles. He was struggling to cope with the loss of their baby and was desperately trying to support Kirsty, but she kept pushing him away. Colleen came up with a great idea, she has these occasional flashes of insight, and suggested that Kirsty needed her mother’s understanding.

Shelley Sutherland came back to Summer Bay and it was as if time stood still. You now how it is, when you haven’t seen someone for a while, you can just pick up where you left off. Anyway, even though they’ve had a turbulent relationship over the years, Kirsty was really pleased to see her mum, and Shelley loved meeting Ollie.

I guess it was mother’s intuition that made Shelley ask if every thing was alright between Kirsty and Miles, and sadly it seems that Kirst just couldn’t re-connect with Miles after losing the baby. She cooked a lovely dinner for Alf, Miles, Nic, Roman and Ollie and everyone thought things were going to get back to normal, but when Miles came home from the P&C meeting, she had gone, leaving only a note.

Poor Miles, he is shattered, but I think knows deep inside that it wasn’t working and that the relationship is really over this time. I will miss them both, especially little Ollie, he had a way of lighting up the room with his smile and those big brown eyes under a mop of curls.

Talking of cute smiles, we have another young boy in the Bay called Bambang. Xavier and Romeo found him alone in a derelict house. They had no idea what to do, so they took him to Martha’s as they could tell he was starving. He was very scared, so she gave him some food and then took him to the police station. Martha offered to look after him whilst the police tried to locate his parents, I hear he might be ‘Clint’s’ son the Indonesian man who did a runner last week.

Martha thinks he is adorable and was furious when Angelo snatched his toy away, he said it was evidence. I don’t know, Angelo is so obsessed with solving the case, he seems to forget that he’s dealing with real people. Hugo is also being very harsh, and made Martha ask DOCS to take Bambang back. Of course he was terrified and clung to Martha sobbing. I think that made her determined to fight to be his temporary foster mum.

Today, her application was approved, so you can imagine how tense things are between her and Hugo. Just to add fuel to the fire, an Indonesian woman turned up at their house claiming to be Hugo’s wife! Boy I’d like to be a fly on the wall when he tries to explain that one to Martha.

Apart from that, everything has been fairly quiet, oh apart from the Halloween party, how could I forget that one? Xavier organised a party with a couple of the girls from school, Ali and Rosie, I think he wanted to get his mind off Ruby. He conned Romeo into handing over the keys to Liam’s place, which I must admit is a pretty good venue. Only the problem was, they didn’t get permission and Liam came home unexpectedly to find the party in full swing.

Things took a dramatic turn when Aden got a call from Romeo saying he needed help. He raced out of the Diner and found Romeo in a very bad state, his drink had been spiked. Aden wanted to call the ambulance, but Liam stopped him, he was worried about the newspapers getting hold of the story. The next day I overheard Romeo having a real go at Liam for not being there for him. It seems he has never taken drugs and doesn’t drink, he is afraid of what can happen when you lose control. For someone so young, he seems to have a lot of life experience, I don’t know anything about his past, but I would like to get to know and understand him a little more, he is a lovely young man.

Gina has just told me that John Palmer fired Romeo for not turning up to work. She was furious as she had just been telling Tony that she was a good judge of character and that John had a nice side to him… that was until she witnessed him ripping Romeo to shreds.

I’d better make her a coffee to help her calm down.

Until next week

Take care
