Hello everyone

Well I’m feeling a little sad as Robert has left Summer Bay, but I will come back to him later.

Firstly I wanted to fill you in on the final chapter of Grant’s murder case. Xavier buckled after the constant questioning of his alibi story with Ruby. He was really afraid that a jail sentence was looming and finally admitted to his mum, Gina, that Ruby had made up the story to help Charlie. Hugo was furious that he had lied but I think everyone understood his motive. Then the pressure was on Ruby and she was taken to the police station in handcuffs! Poor girl, I don’t understand why they had to be quite so dramatic but I suppose that is the law.

After Ruby reluctantly admitted that she had concocted the story, the spotlight fell on Charlie and she was the next person to be placed under arrest. Everything was getting very serious and Morag was with the girls at the police station when Ross came into the interview room.

He basically confessed to the murder of Grant Bledcoe. He had tried to reason with Grant by asking him to leave Summer Bay, but he wouldn’t listen and threatened to make Charlie’s life the same kind of hell he was facing. All the emotions of the past 16 years exploded and Ross lost control. It seems Robert had suspected Ross all along and used Charlie to flush him out.

It made me realise that all Robert’s stories and exaggerated truths are to trip up potential criminals. I felt extremely uncomfortable and asked him if all the things he had said to me were lies too. He insisted that he was telling the truth and when we met later in the Diner he gave me a present. It was a painting of the girl looking out to sea waiting for her lover, the one he had spoken about when we first met. We shared a kiss and now I have to deal with the fact that he has left Summer Bay. I shall miss him.

Anyway, enough about my love life, there are plenty of other romances in the Bay. Liam showed his romantic side by serenading Nicole in public with a song he had written about her. According to Martha, she had a huge grin on her face, but Aden wasn’t too impressed. Geoff questioned him about his mood later and suggested that it might be caused by his feelings for Nicole. Well, Aden went ballistic; he can’t cope with the idea of moving on from Belle. I felt the same after Dan died, but to use an old cliché, time does heal.

Annie, Romeo and Jai are still in turmoil. Jai told Romeo that he was no longer interested in Annie, and then Annie told Romeo that she was fed up with the way he had been treating her, so she was going to ignore him from now on. Somehow I don’t think Romeo will let her go that easily, but he doesn’t want to do the wrong thing by his friend either. It will be interesting to see who ends up going to Japan.

Martha put on a wonderful fight against John Palmer in their public debate. She was nervous to start with as John had brought all his old cronies and a few of us couldn’t make it to support her. But when Gina and Xavier arrived, her spirits lifted and she managed to win some respect with her well grounded policies for Summer Bay, which resulted in warm applause.

Miles told me that he and Kirsty had an interesting day looking after baby Harry! With Rachel working, Tony was struggling with the gym and Harry, so they offered to look after him for the day. Kirsty couldn’t cope with the constant sound of crying and it wasn’t until Miles did an impression of a laughing monkey (don’t ask) that Harry started smiling. Later, they went for dinner with Tony and Rachel and told them about Miles’ antics, but then Kirsty started to feel unwell and collapsed.

I have just heard that she is in hospital and the doctors have no idea what is wrong.

I’m heading down there now, so will fill you in next week.

Take care
