Hi everyone

I have just left the hospital after seeing Rachel and Tony. Thankfully Harry is ok and will not suffer any brain damage. For those of you who didn’t know, Rachel rolled over and smothered him in bed. When Tony came in to check on them, he had to shake Rachel awake and they discovered Harry wasn’t breathing! Understandably Rachel went into melt-down and they rushed him to the hospital.

She has finally admitted that she can’t cope and will accept some professional help at Karitane. I think Tony is very relieved and I have other friends who have benefited enormously from their programs.

I’ve just seen a lovely example of male bonding. Ollie standing between Alf and Miles with his fishing rod. He looked so cute and when he caught a fish they all jumped around like excited three year olds! Alf thought it would be good to take Miles fishing to get his mind off Kirsty. Earlier in the week Miles suggested that they get married, after all they where having a baby together, they loved each other and it seemed like a natural progression. Unfortunately Kirsty didn’t respond positively. She didn’t have a good experience with her first marriage, even though she loved Kane, and so she is not in a hurry to go down that path again. Poor Miles he just wants to settle down, have a family and grow old with the woman he loves. I hope they can work things out.

Other big news this week is that we have a new Principal at Summer Bay High. Tony’s sister Gina Austin has taken over from Mr Bartlett. Gina will be good for the school, she can be tough and has plenty of valuable experience with her three boys, Hugo, Xavier and Brendan, but she has a good heart, so will be fair with the kids.

Another empowered woman in The Bay is Martha. She really put John Palmer in his place when she told him she would be running for council. She was so fed up with him bullying Hugo about the diving wreck that she decided to stand up to him. She has also enlisted Colleen as her campaign manager, so that will be very interesting.

I wish the boys could get their acts together. Aden is walking around like a bear with a sore head, he really doesn’t like seeing Liam and Nicole together and then he takes it out on Geoff! Jai is wandering around like a love-sick puppy and expecting Romeo to help him win Annie back. I heard that she had been receiving love poems, so I’m not sure what their strategy is but Irene said she is falling for it hook line and sinker!

Charlie has been very down since her break-up with Angelo and her suspension from the job. She refuses to take any calls from him and I know Ruby is worried about her.

Apparently she asked to see Robert, or should I say Detective Robertson about something very important. We were supposed to be going on a date, but he felt he had to cancel and of course he was very apologetic and gracious. I was disappointed but said that I understood, he was in the Bay to solve a murder after all. I found out later that Ruby submitted a statement providing Charlie with an alibi. She and Xavier saw Charlie asleep in bed on the night of Grant’s murder. Well this was great news for Charlie and she was immediately re-instated. Although, it does seem strange that they didn’t come forward earlier.

I hope Robert and I do get a chance to go out, he really is the most intriguing person I have ever met, and even V.J. seems to like him.

Until next week

Take care
