Hello everyone

You will all know by now that Grant has been murdered. Alf found him on the beach the other night with multiple stab wounds in his chest.

We are all in a state of shock, and although Grant wasn’t a nice person, no one would wish his life to be taken like this. I feel for his wife and two small children.

A detective has been sent from the city to investigate the case and he has a very unusual manner. Alf said he came to the caravan park and introduced himself as Robert Robertson, Alf couldn’t help asking about his name, and he replied “my mother always said a boy isn’t a man until another man remembers his name, so she gave me a head start.” When Alf told him van 13 was available, he asked if there were any others, as he is superstitious, he turned down number 19 as well, Alf couldn’t believe it “stone the flamin’ crows” he said, and Robertson finally settled for van 4.

When he came into the Diner, he told Irene that his name was the result of a messy divorce and Colleen nearly fainted when he said “I want you Mrs Smart…desperately.” ..haha.

I must admit I was a little taken with him, when he started telling me I reminded him of a painting and that I had soulful eyes, until I realised he was the cop that had suspended Charlie! Then he wanted to question Ross and even me. It was very unnerving, he is full of strange little stories and had a way of making me say things that I think might have made matters worse for Charlie.

Irene told me that Ruby has moved back in with her, she seems to be having problems with Charlie, which is a shame because I’m sure Charlie could do with her support at the moment.

Irene also filled me in on the whole Nicole/Sid saga. Nic has had a massive crush on Sid, who is so much older than her. I know she has had a tough year with Roman in prison and Belle dying, and I think she just needed to connect with someone strong. Sid tried to push her away gently, but she wouldn’t listen. When Annie saw her swimming in Sid’s pool, she told Irene, who then told Miles, which resulted in a huge confrontation and Sid getting pushed into the pool. He was desperate to tell Miles his side of the story and then they worked out a plan to make Nicole realise that she was really going in the wrong direction. I’m not sure what happened but Sid has decided to leave Summer Bay and hopefully Nicole can move on with her life.

Romeo is a breath of fresh air, it’s lovely to see his smiling face in the Diner, he is a bit cheeky and not afraid to flirt with the girls, but he has a good heart. Jai is enjoying having him back in his life; they must have faced some tough times in the orphanage together.

Another person who seems very happy is Brendan. He is loving his new school and has made lots of friends and even has a girlfriend called Ruby. He invited her to dinner and Martha said she is absolutely lovely. Ruby is very good for Brendan as she encourages him to do things himself, although she did say they were just ‘friends.’

I overheard Liam Murphy offering Romeo a job and then Miles told me he went round to have a little word in his ear. He wants to make sure Liam is really making a fresh start and isn’t going to offer Romeo drugs. He was also shocked to find out that Liam and Nicole had a fling after Belle’s funeral. Miles has got his work cut out to keep Nicole focused on her HSC exams, so I hope Liam isn’t going to try and distract her.

Irene has just been in to borrow the egg whisk…she said hers was being used as a gear stick by Aden and Geoff to learn how to drive a boat! Hmmm some strange things are happening in Summer Bay.

I’ll have more news for you next week.

Take care
