Hello dear friends

I am sure you are all feeling the same as us; we are reeling with the shock of hearing about Belle’s illness. Irene came to work in a very stressed state, she snapped at me in front of everyone, and then told us that our beautiful Belle is dying of cancer!

How can life change so quickly? Last week we were celebrating her marriage to Aden and now we have to face the possibility of losing her. It is unimaginably painful and everyone is hurting badly. Dexter found Annie sobbing her heart out kneeling in the surf, Irene is bottling it up inside and I can see the strain on Geoff’s face; he thinks he has to be strong for the girls, but it is hard for him too. He tried to comfort Nicole, and her emotions were so raw that she tried to kiss him, and when he pulled away she was even more upset. She numbed her pain with alcohol at a party until Geoff found her and dragged her home, but not before she threw up on Constable Watson’s shoes.

I don’t know how Aden is coping, he is trying to be loving and supportive to Belle, and perhaps he is in denial about how sick she really is. Rachel told me that the cancer is now too advanced and there is nothing they can do, what a tragedy.

Rachel also told me that Jane, the mother who lost her baby, came around to their house and accused her of being a bad mother. Rach was really shaken and yelled at her to stay away from her family.

Martha had quite a surprise earlier in the week, she was showing Morag around the farm and the house, but when she opened her bedroom door, Ruby and Xavier where in her bed! Seconds later Hugo arrived and then Ross, who went berserk. He went to attack Xavier and was shouting ‘Get away from my daughter, I’m not letting you do this again…’ or something like that, which really upset and confused everyone, especially Charlie when she found out later.

Morag was suspicious about Ross’ over-reaction and then heard him talking to Charlie about a family secret. As we all know, Morag can be very direct and she brought up the subject at dinner. She asked Charlie, in front of Ruby if she had a baby…poor Charlie she was so shocked, but then reluctantly admitted that she had, but the baby died. I think Morag realised she had pushed her too far. Of course Ruby was stunned that her sister could have kept such a huge secret from her. She tried to ask more questions, but Charlie wouldn’t say any more. When I popped home, she was talking intensely to Angelo, I didn’t disturb them, but I’m glad she has got some support from him.

I just saw Nicole and she was very upset. Apparently Belle had begged her to take her for a swim. Nic was reluctant and wanted to call Aden, but Belle was so insistent, she just wanted to feel normal for a little while. Nicole said it was quite beautiful to see her floating in the water with a radiant smile as though all the pain was washing away. But when they got home Belle seemed even weaker, it seems she may have even less time than we thought.
