Hello everyone
The big news this week is Belle and Aden’s engagement! It’s very exciting if not a little surprising. They are a gorgeous couple and are made for each other, but have been through so much. Perhaps Aden’s accident made Belle realise how much she loves him.
I’m not sure if I have the full story, as I heard bits and pieces from different people. Nicole and Geoff found Aden lying face down on the beach with blood all over his face. He had been beaten up by Clint, who Geoff said had been blackmailing him to throw the rugby game. Apparently Aden had hocked the engagement ring he bought for Belle and this was the only way he could get it back.
Tony was furious, but when Belle heard the reason, she became very emotional and she actually proposed to Aden! Go girl!
Martha made a couple of discoveries; the first was with the help of Jai and Xavier. Whilst helping around the farm, as a punishment for slashing Angelo’s tyres, Xavier found a stash of guns in the shed. They were hidden by Geoff’s grandfather, Bruce Campbell during the gun amnesty. I hope they turn them into the police straight away; boys and guns are a dangerous mix.
Her second discovery was that she was ready to move on. After spending sometime on the beach remembering Jack, Martha made the decision that she does want to be with Hugo. I think she was so worried that he was going out with Charlie, it jolted her into action.
Irene is terribly worried about Lou’s business; she is up to her eyes in debt. It doesn’t seem fair that she should inherit all these problems. Alf suggested that she winds up the company to pay off the debts, but she is worried about leaving Aden without a job and then she made me laugh, she said she really didn’t want Donna the ‘peroxide piranha’ to win...haha.
Angelo’s new girlfriend May is a breath of fresh air, although I think he finds her a bit overwhelming at times. They were having lunch at the Diner and she suddenly shrieked with excitement and leapt into his lap, smothering him with kisses. My other customers were a little surprised. She had been looking for a place to live, and Angelo said that she could stay with him. It’s a big step; I hope he knows what he is doing. I still feel there is some tension between him and Charlie.
There is also tension between Angelo and Hugo. A local fisherman thinks there is an illegal abalone racket in Summer Bay and for some reason Angelo has been asking Alf lots of questions about Hugo. He wanted to know where he goes diving and if Alf had seen anything suspicious.
Rachel has just been telling me about Lachie, he can move his toes now, so should make a full recovery. I hope that makes him less angry, because he has been taking out his frustrations on poor Claudia. After witnessing an attack, Geoff decided to intervene and agreed with Irene to let Claudia stay at the beach house for the sake of the baby. That was a really noble gesture from Geoff, especially after finding out that he was not the father of her baby. A few days later Claudia told Geoff that she had accepted a job in Dubbo. She made arrangements to stay with her cousin, so they shared and emotional embrace and said goodbye. Let’s hope Geoff has more success in his next relationship, he is such a sweet boy.
Another person who seems to have an anger problem is John Palmer. He was yelling at Trey in the Diner the other day saying ‘Why can’t you just be normal like other kids!’ I know Trey has done some terrible things, but I can really see some resentment building up towards his step-father. His eyes were just cold and unemotional. Nicole was watching and I think she was feeling a bit sorry for him.
On a happier note, Kirsty finally admitted to me that she and Miles are trying for a baby! Colleen had been dropping hints, so it was lovely to hear that she was right for a change. Although I was a bit surprised when Kirsty’s bag fell over in the kitchen and a packet of contraceptive pills fell out. I wonder if she is really ready to have another baby.
I must go and order some more supplies, as the students from Summer Bay High are going on the trek next week in honour of Dan’s memory. He would have been so proud of them.
Until next week, take care.
Love Leah x
