As Andrew Van de Kamp, Marcia Cross' rebellious teenage son on "Desperate Housewives," Shawn Pyfrom is making waves as one of young Hollywood's fastest rising stars. He also stars in the Disney remake of "The Shaggy Dog," alongside Tim Allen, Kristin Davis, Danny Glover and Robert Downey, Jr., and in the indie thriller "The Darkroom."
Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Pyfrom has been acting for as long as he can remember. Starting with numerous commercials in Florida, he eventually booked Disney's "Sing Me a Story" and the Tampa series "The Reppies," which started his climb to success. After working on such projects as HBO's "From the Earth to the Moon" and the syndicated drama "The Cape," Pyfrom packed up his bi-coastal lifestyle and moved to Los Angeles with his mother and two siblings. Arriving in LA, the Pyfrom kids were home-schooled and went on auditions.
An exceptionally versatile young actor, Pyfrom has appeared in an episode of "7th Heaven" as a child with Tourette Syndrome, in an Emmy-nominated episode of "Touched by an Angel" as a young Jewish boy (opposite Kirk Douglas), and in the ABC Movie-of-the-Week, "Come On Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story," about the Partridge Family series, portraying the affable and very red-headed lead character, Danny Bonaduce. His convincing turn as the young Bonaduce won him a nomination for The Hollywood Reporter's "Young Star Award" for Best Actor. Prior to landing "Desperate Housewives," Pyfrom had recurring roles on CBS' comedy, "Still Standing," with Jami Gertz, and ABC's "8 Simple Rules." He has also appeared on the popular shows "Malcolm in the Middle," "Reba," "The Drew Carey Show," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "LA Doctors," "Chicago Hope," "Jesse," "Ellen" and "The Division," and internationally as a recurring lead on the Canadian hit, "My Hometown." Film credits include "Pay It Forward" with Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey, the Canadian comedy, "A Day in the Life," and Disney's "Max Keeble's Big Move." Voiceover credits include a series regular role on "Stanley" and "Kids from Room 402."
When not working, Pyfrom enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends and going to the movies. He also enjoys volunteering his time with needy children. Besides being a promising artist, he is also an avid reader.
