How do you feel about being in the Grand Final?
Amazed that I've come this far! I never thought that I would make it through 10 weeks of dancing after starting from scratch. I’m amazed, excited and blown away.
Are you nervous?
No, I'm not nervous, not yet anyway. I probably will be a little nervous just before the dances. I’ve been blessed; I haven’t had any nerves through out the series and I think it's because I've enjoyed it. The best thing about Sunday night is that it's the last one; I just want to go out there and have fun. I'm more excited than nervous.
What can we expect from your performances on Sunday night?
We've got 2 dances and they are two very different dances. The freestyle just goes off, it's huge, it's fun and there are so many tricks in there that I'm still aching from training!
How many hours have you been training for the final?
We have been doing about 4 hours a day and then sometimes we double up and train after work. So basically since day one my routine has been to train all morning, then go home and regroup and go straight into Today Tonight and then go home, put the kids to bed and occasionally after Today Tonight, I will do some extra sessions. That hasn't changed for this week, nothing has really changed for the Grand Final, it has been exactly the same; we just kept going.
What has been the highlight of the series for you so far?
There has been heaps of dancing highlights because no two weeks are the same, but I think the highlight for me has been getting the buzz of the crowd and enjoying something so much. When we are actually on the floor and performing, the reaction from the crowd and to get the feedback from people all around the country, I think that's the highlight. There has been a few individual dancing highlights, but in terms of an experience, that instant reaction from making somebody enjoy what you do and then also having it in letters, emails and phone calls, it's been mind blowing to think that you can make people's day by doing a dance and make them laugh, it something that I'm not use to so I've really enjoyed that!
Any lowlights?
No. Even the hard times, the tiredness, missing my family and being sore and sorry every morning and every night; I knew that was coming, so that hasn't been a lowlight as such. It's been hard to cope with but it wasn't unexpected.
Which was your favourite dance?
I'm hoping my favourite dance will be the last one we do on Sunday night. If we get that right, it would be so cool. The foxtrot was special, but I've got a feeling the last dance we do Sunday night will be awesome.
What do you think of your competitors?
Kylie is fantastic. It has been awesome to see how much this means to her and how much she has enjoyed it. She is exactly who she is she, she is out there having a lot of fun and putting a lot of hard work into it. It has been really cool to watch.
The same goes with Adam. I've really enjoyed Adam's company and getting to know him and learning off him, he is great. I love his fun factor, it’s so likeable.
Who do you think will win?
Ask me on Sunday night (laughs). I wouldn’t have a clue! I haven’t been able to pick who is going to stay or who is going so far, so I don’t expect that to change on Sunday. I just hope at the end we get to do our final dance and I hope do it for the trophy.
