Carmelo Pizzino was born in Perth and won his first dancing award at just five years of age.

Moving to Sydney at a young age, Carmelo then moved to London to further his dance career and represent Australia on the international circuit. He has since won many Australian and World titles, including the prestigious British Latin Championship, The International Latin Championship, the Australian Open, South Pacific, Australasian, Singapore's Lion City Championship and the Rumba in the Jungle Latin Championship in South Africa.

Carmelo was a resident teacher at Sydney Dance Company for three years. He studied theatre and performed in shows under the guidance of New York producer Missy Stephens. He has also performed internationally, with recent appearances on Holland's So You Think You Can Dance.

Carmelo made his Dancing With The Stars debut in Series Four, partnering Noeline Brown. He then returned in Series Five with grandmaster chess star Arianne Caoili, reaching the Grand Final.

For the past two years Carmelo has been performing in 'Burn the Floor's Floorplay', touring Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Japan, Europe, Canada and the US.

In February, Carmelo returned to Australia to work on the second series of So You Think You Can Dance.

Carmello, Your cv implies that you won these championships as an adult. I can recall you winning some titles as a youth but can you let us all know what world titles you won as an adult. Toooldtotango

How I would have just loved to have been taught and to dance with Carmello for I am 72 now and loved to dance at Hammersmith Palais to Joe Loss and His Orchestra in the 60s's to 70's. Carmello is such a beautiful dancer, and as well just so gorgeous and seems a really nice person. I think he is doing a fantastic job with Kylie. I only watch the show because he is in it. Yep, I think Carmello is hot too...! I love to watch him dance and watch how he moves his body, he moves so smoothly and makes the most of his physique. He really is a lovely dancer.

Hi Carmelo, I am enjoying your dancing so much. I think you are the best and I hope you and Kylie win the series. it is really annoying how Channel 7 spell your name with 2 lls.
